Sometimes getting to our destination requires taking a connecting flight.  So, if you have a choice, which airport will keep you entertained during a long layover? Via Her compiled a short list of the best airports, using information from industry surveys, such as ACI and Skytrax.

Amsterdam - Schiphol

Schiphol was ranked Europe 3rd best airport by Skytrax in 2009. In addition to shopping areas, the airport has a gym that offer day passes and personal training sessions. It also has a casino (Holland Casino) and a museum (Rijksmuseum) located in the terminal!

Hong Kong International Airport

Although, you don't experience the thrill of flying between the tall buildings before landing at Kai Tak Airport, Hong Kong's "new" airport has a 3D movie theater, an aviation discovery center (with cockpit Simulator, a full-motion plane-cabin ride simulator 4D Motion Ride, etc.), a free Playstation gaming area, and a golf course!

Munich Airport

Munich Airport is a great airport when flying with kids. It has touch-screen monitors that teaches kids how airports work, as well as a movie theater that shows free, aviation-themed movies each day. If you stop in Munich during the Holiday Season, check out the Christmas market.

Nagoya - Central Japan International Airport

In addition to a spa, Nagoya's airport has a bathhouse from which you can watch take-offs and landing.

Seoul - Incheon International Airport

In additions to the hundreds of shops, the airport includes a children's playroom, a spa, an art museum, several gardens, a casino and even a golf driving range! Maybe one should consider the airport as a destination vacation by itself!

Singapore Changi International Airport

The Changi airport website says: "An airport need not just be about travelling". This is true, as the airport offers its travelers a huge choice of activities: catch a movie at the movie theater? Play Xbox in the entertainment lounge? Workout at the gym?  Lounge around the swimming pool? Or even take a free city tour if you have a long layover!

Zurich Airport

In 2009, and for the sixth year in a row Zurich Airport has won the prestigious World Travel Award for its user-friendliness and general quality standards. For children, the airport has Family Services which includes a nursery and playroom facilities. And if you have a long layover and need to take a nap, you can rent a day room or just relax on one of the reclining chair in the less expensive rest area.
