Traffic to JFK

My flight is at 9pm from JFK on a Friday. If I take a taxi, what time should I leave Manhattan?

Traffic can be a bit hectic on Friday night. If it's an international flight, I'd recommend leaving Manhattan by 5.30pm to be one the safe side. You should arrive at JFK between 6.30 and 7pm, giving you enough time for checking your luggages and do a bit of last minute shopping at the airport.

You may want to book a car service at this time, since it may be a bit difficult to hail a taxi on the street
