Via Her is currently seeking:

Web content editor:

New York based start-up is seeking an "editor-in-chief".  Duties include coordinating the end-to-end creation, publication and maintenance of the website's features and content. The work location is flexible; however, you will liaise with the New York office on a daily basis and will be compensated / measured on your ability to adhere to strict deadlines.  You will be hired as a contractor/ consultant. The expected level of time commitment is approximately 50%. (about 4 hours / day with the ability to manage your own schedule).

Skills and Requirements:

  • Fluency in English.
  • Bachelor of Arts;
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills;
  • Professional skills: Attention to details, punctuality, flexibility, and the ability meet strict deadlines.
  • Self-starter who can manage their own time and needs minimal supervision;
  • Own your own computer with high-speed internet access, and the following software: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft Publisher, and Skype.

Preferred candidates will also have:

  • Published articles in magazines and/or newspapers;
  • Interest in International travel, fashion, food, pop culture, art;
  • Familiarity in basic web technologies, such as HTML, Drupal and blogging;
  • Competency and / or interest in graphic design; and
  • Fluency in a foreign language (Spanish, French, German, etc)

Freelance writers

We are currently searching for freelance writers with specific knowledge and experience related to women's business travel.

The basics:

  • Experienced business traveller
  • Writing experience - either in the corporate world or as professional writer; in either case, your personality must shine through.
  • Strong research skills
  • Specialized knowledge of a city, country or region
  • Ability to work independently

Nice to haves (although not mandatory):

  • Written or spoken foreign language skills
  • Specific areas of expertise, such as art, music, wildlife, other cultures, food, languages, outdoor activities and other travel-related pursuits

Via Her does not employ staff writers.  All of our contributors are freelancers, hired on a contract-by-contract basis.
