Bronx Zoo

Hello. Does anyone here know if it is safe to take the subway to the Bronx Zoo. Also, what time does it close?

Yes, it is entirely safe to travel by subway to the Bronx Zoo. The Zoo is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the week; 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays. These hours are in effect until Nov. 1.The website for the Zoo is www.bronxzoo.com--Rosaleah

The subways are generally safe ways to travel, especially during rush hour (7am - 10 am and then again in the evenings, 6pm to 10pm).

I agree with that the subways are a safe way to travel the city but as a native New Yorker I take an express bus which picks up along Madison Avenue (BxM11) and then directly to the zoo.  While I encourage people to use mass transit here in NYC (Do It  Like a New Yorker.com) this bus is by far the quickest and easiest way to get to the Bronx Zoo.
