I recently watched a video on WSJ that said that airlines were bringing (back) healthy food! Great news, right?
In my opinion, Virgin America offers by far the healthiest options with oatmeal for breakfast. Lunch and dinner options include a fresh vegetable salad, or a salad with spinach, strawberries and goat cheese. Sounds pretty good right? United is making some efforts as well, although clearly it does not compare with Virgin America. On United flights longer than 3 hours, you can purchase Yogurt Parfait, Thai Chicken Wrap, etc. Alaska Airlines, whose slogan is "elevate food to a higher standard", offers a Smart Heart Picnic Pack (which contains oatmeal square, nuts, crackers), as well as a cheese and fruit platter.
However, it seems that people don't want to eat...
